After making sure your cigar is smokeable, you need to cut the cigar properly. This operation is very delicate and must be done with a guillotine. Guillotines may have one or more blades, depending on the type. The incision should be made approximately three millimeters from the base of the cigar. Usually, experienced cigar smokers advise making an incision exactly at this distance, since, firstly, a large length of the incision can cause the cover sheet to begin to unfold and, secondly, this ensures the circulation of smoke along the entire length of the cigar.
