Cohiba Siglo VI was first released back in 2003. Often the year of release of Cuban cigars marks a particular moment that represents one of the best years, if not the best. The products tested for this review are from the very first batch when the Siglo VI was first introduced. This Cañonazo's size was easily overshadowed by the widely acclaimed Cohiba Esplendidos.

Visually, the cigar is dressed in a smooth Colorado Maduro wrapper. The design is impeccable.

The first third brings rich cocoa notes to the taste. Subtle spices (pink pepper) remain in the background. Seasoned wood also stands out. The base is sweet, with a creamy smoke and slightly above average strength.

Spices come to the fore in the second third and reach a culmination of hot spices. Even the wood remains visible, but it occupies the background. The base remains sweet. Halfway through the cigar turns into cocoa and nuts (mainly hazelnut).

In the last third, the spices become even more pronounced, and there are also more hot spices. Shades of earth and hazelnut alternate in the background, while wood remains present in the retro hall. The base remains sweet, although not as pronounced as in the previous two thirds. Approaching the finish, the classic Cohiba note of ripe fruit emerges. In the last puffs, hot spices and balsamic herbs alternate. The strength builds to a medium to full body (4/5) and excellent smoke closure.

Overall, Cohiba Siglo VI has a pronounced balance. Compared to younger cigars, where the classic Cohiba aroma of ripe fruit is more pronounced, the smoke here is instead spicier and more masculine. The feeling of filling is exceptional.
