Format: Laguito No.5 Country of manufacture: Cuba. Linking sheet: Cuba. Length: 144mm (5.7"). Diameter: 21.43 mm (RG 54). Fortress: medium These cigars were first released in 2006 as part of the Commemorative Humidors series dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the Cohiba brand. This release - 40 Aniversario Humidor was released in 40 special humidors of 100 cigars each. The cost of each was about 10,000 USD. Torcedor - Norma Fernandez, the oldest and most experienced twister of the El Laguito factory. However, already in 2009, the first information appeared from Habanos S.A. about the release of these cigars in the ordinary line of the Cohiba brand, the fourth line in a row in this brand. Aroma typical of Cohiba: flowers, aromatic Indian wood, light honey notes. The aroma is sweetish, but on the cut it is even sweeter, more vigorous. Alder buds are added, otherwise everything is the same. The taste is also sweetish - cedar, aged cognac, honeycombs, hot black pepper. After cutting, the taste practically does not change. First third: Soft, magical taste: a little earth, a little sandalwood, a little condensed milk, a little pulp of white bread, a little bee pollen (pollen), and together - a powerful, bright taste. Moreover, like Cohiba Behike BHK 56, the same “champagne effect” is an explosion of taste from every sip of smoke. Throughout the first third of the body, the cigar has more and more. Second third: Cognac aftertaste appears, and the smoke no longer explodes with champagne bubbles. The farther, the less distinct the nuances become, everything is smoothed out. Third third: After the middle of the last third, tart tannins and the usual “chill” are added, like many proper Cuban cigars.
